La Vieille Ville d'Annecy
Departure from Lyon with the speaking guide to Annecy.
Located at the lakeside, Annecy offers one of the most beautiful landscapes of the French Alps.
The city was built in the XIIth century around its castle named Annecy le Neuf to differentiate it from the neighbouring Gallo-Roman town, Annecy le Vieux (Annecy the old). It became important in the XVIth century in succeeding to Geneva as a regional capital.
The guided tour of the old town will allow you to discover some unknown aspects : from the Middle-Age city to the contemporary monuments.
Lunch in a restaurant on the lakeside.
During the afternoon, you will enjoy a walk around the lake, one of the 4 most famous lake of the French Alps.
The Annecy Lake offers turquoise water in the middle of mountains.
Stopover in the Menthon-Saint-Bernard castle, medieval stronghold located on a rock 200 meter high, in a stunning environment.
It overhangs the Annecy Lake and inspired a Walt Disney movie: Sleeping Beauty (1959).
End of the day. Return to Lyon.
